Maketto is a proxy service: we buy items in Japan for people who live abroad. It works simply — you find an item → we buy it for you → it arrives at our warehouse in Toyama → we check and photograph it → we combine your orders into one parcel → and we ship it to you overseas.
Right on the Maketto storefront you can browse three Japanese marketplaces — Yahoo Auctions, Yahoo Shopping and Rakuten. And if the item you want isn't there, just send us a link from any Japanese store through our Assisted purchase service, and we'll buy it for you.
We don't keep our own stock — we don't hold goods, we buy each item to order from Japanese stores and auctions. Our warehouse in Toyama is only there to receive your purchase, check it, and prepare it for international shipping.
People order all kinds of things from Japanese stores and auctions: clothing and footwear, fishing gear, anime goods and collectible figures, cosmetics, watches, parts and spares. Almost anything works — except items that are prohibited for shipping (you'll find that list on the calculator page).
Find the item in the Yahoo Auctions, Yahoo Shopping or Rakuten catalog, add it to your cart and place the order. We'll buy it from the seller and receive it at our warehouse in Japan.
If the item isn't in our catalogs, use the Assisted purchase service: send a link to the item in any Japanese store and describe what you need (size, color, quantity). Our manager will check availability and price and prepare the order for payment.
You can search on the storefront in Russian or English — your query is translated into Japanese automatically. If you can't find it yourself, message support or create an Assisted purchase request, and we'll help.
The minimum order is ¥1,000 — this applies both to store orders and to auction or second-hand marketplace lots. Very small purchases are cheaper to combine into one order.
It happens — the seller may have pulled the item, or it sold out while the order was being processed. In that case the money for the item is returned to your account balance.
You pay on the site: with an international card (Visa/Mastercard via Stripe), a Wise transfer, a Russian bank card in rubles, or by bank transfer. You can also top up your account balance in advance and pay for purchases from it.
No. You pay on the site through a secure checkout form, the same way as in any online store — a payment provider handles the payment, and your card details never reach us or the manager. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment with 3-D Secure. Company details are on the site and in the User Agreement.
With a Russian bank card you pay in rubles — the price in yen is converted automatically at the current rate at the moment of payment.
You top up the balance in your account — by card or bank transfer. It's convenient to pay for purchases and place auction bids from the balance.
The balance is mainly needed for auctions: to place a bid you must have enough on your balance — the amount is reserved when you bid. It's also handy for paying for regular orders.
The final price is made up of a few parts: the item price, the service fee, domestic shipping in Japan (from the seller to our warehouse) and international shipping to you. International shipping is calculated by the calculator.
The service fee is 10% of the item price. The minimum order is ¥1,000 (per store order or per lot on auctions and second-hand marketplaces).
The cost and delivery times are calculated by the calculator on the storefront: enter the weight, country and item type to see the available options. The same page also lists items prohibited for shipping.
Yes. If you've ordered several items, you can combine them into one parcel — that makes international shipping cheaper than sending each item separately.
Yahoo Auctions is the largest Japanese online auction marketplace. It's where people sell vintage, collectible and rare pieces, second-hand goods and lots priced below retail. Many items exist in a single copy, so it's worth keeping an eye on a lot you like.
To take part in an auction, first top up your balance. When you place a bid, its amount is reserved (held) on your balance for the duration of the auction. Please note: a bid cannot be cancelled.
The bid is just the price of the item itself. Domestic shipping in Japan, the service fee and international shipping are not included and are paid separately.
If you win, the reserved amount is charged from your balance and we buy the lot. If you lose, the amount is unblocked and becomes available on your balance again.
Some lots have a Buyout price — with it you can buy the item right away, without waiting for the auction to end.
Once your orders arrive at the warehouse in Toyama, you can combine them into one parcel in your account, choose a shipping method and pay for it. Combining orders helps you save on international shipping.
Yes. At the warehouse we receive every order, check it and take photos — so you can see exactly what's coming even before it's shipped internationally.
Yes, you can add extra services to a parcel — for example, reinforced packaging. The current list of services and prices is shown on the site when you build your parcel.
After arriving at the warehouse, an item is stored free of charge for up to 90 days while you build and pay for your parcel. If you need more time, just message support.
Maketto ships worldwide. Our main destinations are Russia and the CIS, but we can send a parcel to other countries too.
EMS, airmail, FedEx and other carriers are available. The choice depends on the country and the parcel's weight — the calculator will show all available options.
The cost depends on the parcel's weight and dimensions, the country and the chosen carrier. The exact amount and timing are shown by the calculator on the storefront.
Timing depends on the method and the country. Roughly, worldwide it's about 2–4 weeks; express carriers like FedEx are faster. The calculator will show the exact time for your option.
For Russia there are separate routes — for example, sea and cargo delivery. Their timing varies a lot: from a few days by express to around three months by sea. Customs delays are sometimes possible — that's normal, and the parcel will continue on its way.
