  I bought these mid-cut type socks thinking they wouldn't be visible from loafers, but the tops of my feet are still exposed. Normally, regular very short socks wouldn't show, but when paired with loafers, there's too much exposure, leading to severe chafing, which is a concern. If there were a pair with a height between the regular type and these mid-cuts, they might not be visible from loafers and would help prevent chafing. Of course, I think they are a good product for sneakers (the fabric is thin, so for sneakers, I purchased the sports type).
