  In the harsh winter of the Hokuriku region, I look for both 'warmth' and 'non-bulkiness' in an inner layer. This ultra-warm layer has a perfect thickness, completing the role of an inner layer by itself. Of course, for extreme environments like snow-covered mountain climbing, a middle layer will be necessary, but for everyday use, it functions as 'almost the strongest layer.' One thing to note is that if you're doing high-sweat activities, I recommend wearing a fast-drying inner layer underneath. In other words, with that adjustment, you can create a top-notch cold-proof environment. For those who dislike layering and feeling bulky, I find this to be a very reasonable choice.
