I went with a regular size of 30 inches. It fits nicely and looks good. The damage has small holes left as-is, while the larger holes have a backing, which is neatly sewn. I think a chain stitch for the hem is better than the free hemming, but I somewhat regret choosing the free option.

I tried it on in the store and then purchased a longer length in the same size online, but it turned out to be about 2 sizes smaller.

It has just the right amount of fun and is easy to use. The holes are not fully penetrating damage, so it seems useful throughout the summer except for the hottest days.
